ABOUT THE ROLE

Graduates:

We would love to hear from graduates who are passionate about rocks and are looking to learn and gain experience in field exploration. These are a full-time field based roles based in regional areas of NSW and QLD. You will gain wide-ranging experience in geological exploration activities with ongoing coaching and support from our experienced geologists.

Experienced Geologists: 

We are looking for motivated geologists with experience in coal exploration to join our teams working at client sites in regional NSW and QLD. These are a full-time field based roles reporting to our General Manager, Projects. You will perform a wide variety of geological activities including drill rig supervision, core and chip logging, technical data collection and interpretation, data management, sampling, team supervision and coaching. 

We listen to our people’s needs and work preferences and as part of this you will work in a supportive and collaborative work environment. Our field rosters are determined by client requirements and project location: e.g., NSW is most commonly 5 days on 2 days off and QLD is 14 days on and 7 days off.  Access to a field vehicle, laptop and accommodation for rostered workdays is provided by MBGS.       

ABOUT YOU

Graduates - to be successful in this role you will possess:

• A Passion for Geology!
• Bachelor of Science (Geology/Earth Science) or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
• Flexibility and willingness to work in regional locations of NSW and QLD (DIDO/FIFO).
• Full Australian ‘C’ class driver’s license essential (ability to drive a manual vehicle highly regarded).
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Experienced Coal Geologists - to be successful in this role you will possess:

• Bachelor of Science (Geology/Earth Science) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in coal exploration.
• Supervision of drilling programs highly regarded. 
• Experience coaching and supporting field geologists.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.  
• Willingness to work in regional locations in NSW and QLD (DIDO/FIFO).
• Experience in geological software, e.g., Geobank, Task Manager.
• Full Australian ‘C’ class driver’s license essential (ability to drive a manual vehicle highly regarded).
• Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).
• 4WD experienced or Certification (desirable).
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
